We had a fantastic time at Macleod Cottage in Port Ness. Three of us stayed for a few nights and couldn't find a single fault. The cottage was clean, warm, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The beds were comfy, the rooms cozy, and the wifi handled our devices perfectly. The location, facing the sea, was breathtaking, especially during sunrises and sunsets. We even got to hear the rare concrake bird. We also enjoyed exploring the area, hiking, and reconnecting with family. a perfect stay!
100% Recommend this hotel.

Our stay at Macleod Cottage on the Isle of Lewis was absolutely perfect. The cottage itself was clean, warm, and had everything we needed. The fire was ready to light when we arrived and the hot water was plentiful for our showers. The beds were comfortable and the rooms cozy. The wifi handled all three of our devices without any issues. The location of the cottage was ideal, with fantastic sea views and a great spot for exploring the island. The communication with the owner, Iain, was excellent. We also had the chance to reconnect with family and visit old haunts, as well as spend a delightful afternoon at the Ness Archives. And I must mention the delicious coleslaw from Cross Stores, which I couldn't resist bringing back with me. I can't fault this place and would highly recommend it.
The only drawback was the very low door entry, which several of our taller friends accidentally hit their heads on. It would be helpful to have a sign to warn taller people about the low entry.

Great location with a lovely view and easy access to other parts of the island. Clean and fully equipped accommodation, including a cozy log burner. Good communication from the owner.
A little coffee machine would have been a nice addition. It can be difficult to find the place in the dark.

Fantastic sea views and good location. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise and sunset over the sea from our north-facing cottage. The cottage itself was clean and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The communication from the host was excellent, and they provided us with detailed directions to reach the property easily.
The low door entry into the kitchen was a bit of a hazard, and a few people accidentally bumped their heads. It would be helpful to have a sign or warning for taller guests to avoid this.

Cons: All was good! 😊.

Our stay at Macleod Cottage was absolutely wonderful. The location was perfect, offering stunning sea views that took our breath away. The cottage itself felt like a home away from home, with a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The owner, Iain, was incredibly kind and responsive, making our stay even more enjoyable. The cottage was spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything we needed, including a lovely log burner. Exploring the island was a breeze from this convenient location, and Stornoway was just a short drive away. We even had the pleasure of hearing the concrake bird, a sound I hadn't heard in 35 years. And if that wasn't enough, a neighbor even delivered freshly baked pancakes to us one day. our experience was idyllic and we can't wait to return.
While there was nothing we didn't like about our stay, it would have been advantageous to have a dishwasher in the cottage. This would have made it easier to clean up after meals and allow for a cycle to be run at a more convenient time.
